The 2018 Miss Sierra Leone winner, Sarah Laura Tucker has sends words of inspiration to Sierra Leonean women in their  pursuit towards ending Gender Discrimination.

March is a very special month dedicated towards celebrating women.  Sarah believes as an activist all they are  all  they are doing around here in this women’s month is celebrate, exalt and promote the achievements of women, as well as motivate and inspire more women to achieve, while speaking and working towards “Gender equality today, for sustainable tomorrow”.

She believes the hashtags #breakthebias goes a long way and isn’t just meant for the men.  She added that there  is a lot they need to do for themselves and for one another as women. She emphasized that  this fight for gender equity will only be an easier course, when women stand in unity.

She pointed out that little words and acts of kindness could be a way to start today, to even women you do not know. She further calls on women to help one another to be whole and then every woman will be capable to join in and follow the movement.

She highlighted that If this message reaches you and you are a woman or a girl, listen:

You are precious than you know.
You are more capable than you think.
Believe in you first, then it wouldn’t matter whether we believe in you or not.
Be your very own self; The world will adjust.
There is no limit to what you can accomplish.

She concluded by stating the harsh realities that you may encounter ”You’ll be criticized, judged, pulled back and crucified anyway, even by you female counterparts, because the world is not used to you being this powerful. So are you gonna let it/them stop you? No! …coz when they can’t fight you anymore, they join you!
