As the movie continues to get a breakthrough, another Sierra Leonean movie has been selected for a major global film festival. The latest beneficiary is a film titled ‘WATH E’BEHRA’, which is set to be featured in the 24th edition of the Vesuvius International Film Festival in Campania, Italy.

Wath E’Behra is based on the true story of Haja Zainab Hawa Bangura, a politician and social activist who is the current Director General of the United Nations Office in Nairobi since 2018.

The movie which is themed on child marriage and girl child education, depicts an era when girls education was not a priority as they were considered less than boys. Girls were groomed to become wives and mothers.

From a humble beginning with illiterate parents, in a small village in Sierra Leone called Yonibana, young Zainab fought her way through education from a small village girl to a public servant as a Minister and UN Director General.

This amazing documentary film was written and directed by Lansana Spartar Kamara and produced by WOW Studio’s Phebean Swill.

The documentary movie has been recognized as the too 6 selected docu-films at the XXV edition of the Vesuvius International Film Festival in Italy.

The film stars Mariama Djelo Bah, Emma Dyfan, Al-Idriss Bailal Kamara, Muctar Tejan-Cole, Alimatu Farakhan Sesay and others.
