One of Sierra Leone’s Popular Record Labels, Cribs International has expressed optimism that they are confident that they will succeed in their defence against Therapist Litigation.

The statement of optimism is encapsulates on their Public Notice issued on the 30th December 2022 which states that “We have every confidence we shall prevail and succeed in our defence and continue to implement our valid existing contract with the Therapist.”

The Label further emphasized that they shall defend themselves and take appropriate action against any in any and every country where Jacob may want to Perpetuate his breach of contract.The Label further claimed that they shall seek full compensation for the breach, their lost revenues and expenses they are incurring on professional advisers working on the issue. Cribs further claimed in their said notice that they have taken legal advice and believe in the weight of the evidence they do have.

However, as Cribs denies any allegations of wrongdoing in their engagement with Jacob, The Therapist, the matter has just started in court, no judgement has been passed yet. The judge will now determine the merits and demerits of the case.

Entertainment Business has its risk and Record Labels and artists globally cannot guarantee the provisions of 100% satisfaction to their agreements as a result of the too many variables that involved. That is where sometimes relationship do comes in.

Though Record Labels keeps looking out for new and good talent for signing. The nature of the artist management industry makes this process hectic for them.

The Label may have everything but artists may still sue them due to various reasons.

Meanwhile, artists are an integral part of of any Record Label. A Record Label has multiple priorities, but signing productive artists is almost the biggest one. Artist can also add prestige to record labels, add glamour too events and hook audience to attend.
