Our WCW for this week is no other than one of the few Sierra Leone female CEO of an Entertainment company in the country, Ellen Keister!

As an household name in the country, Ellen Keister has been on the screen for a while; hosting a popular TV Show “Ur Airtel Playlist” before setting up her own TV Show “Real Talk With Ellen Keister” while running Reems Services (SL) Limited that houses a record label and other services at the same time.

Born on the offshores of the country in Oregon, USA to Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Salimatu Keister, natives of Sierra Leone, Ellen Salimatu Nannette Keister was relocated to Sierra Leone as a little girl where she was raised in the capital of Sierra Leone, Freetown. She however moved back to the United States in 1996 and finished both high school and college education.

Ellen Kister holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She also holds High School Diploma from David Douglas High School.

But as they say, home is always more comfortable than abroad. In April 2008, Ellen relocated to Sierra Leone volunteering some of her time and experience to different causes. While giving a helping hand to the nation, Keister slowly edged her way into working into the growing entertainment industry of Sierra Leone.

She became later a TV presenter, hosting a TV musical show called Ur Airtel playlist, powered by Airtel now Orange (one of Africa’s largest GSM companies) where top 10 vids, interviews with celebs/celebrity gossips are aired twice a week on Sierra Leone Broadcasting Cooperation (SLBC).

In February 2012, she became the CEO and Founder Reems Entertainment, making her one of the few Sierra Leonean women to own an entertainment comapany. She is also the CEO of Reems Services (SL) Limited located at 9 Aberdeen Ferry Road, Freetown.
