Meet our personality for this week, Osman Jovan Kakay.

Kakay is a professional Sierra Leonean footballer who plays for EFL Championship side, Queens Park Rangers.

The side-back was born in Westminster, England on the 25th August 1997. He started his youth career in 2005 for Queens Park Rangers and played there until 2015 when he was promoted to the senior squad.

He made his debut for the club in an EFL tie against Rochdale after being substituted in the 73rd minute.

Kakay scored his first professional goal for QPR in an EFL cup tie against Plymouth Argyle in 2020. The following year, the side-back also netted his first Championship goal against Stoke City.

Kakay also had loan spells at Livingston, Chesterfield and Partick Thistle.

 

In 2018, Kakay received his first international cap for the Sierra Leone National Team against Ethiopia in an AFCON Qualifier.

The 26-year-old was part of the Leone Stars squad that played in the 2021 AFCON Finals in Cameroon.

 

Recently, he was named as the Leone Stars captain when they played against Guinea-Bissau in AFCONQ match.

The side-back is among the most expensive footballers from Sierra Leone with Transfermarket valuing him for up €400,000.
