A Junior Secondary school pupil of 10 Sewa Road, attending the United Brethen in Christ (UBC) school in Bo, has died under suspicious circumstances, on Friday 13th May 2022. He was in JSS3.

According to reliable sources, Mohamed Kamara was staying with his Uncle Amara Bunduka, after relocating from Kailahun to further his Secondary school education.

On Wednesday 11th May 2022, grandfather of the deceased, named Mualem Kengoh had received a call from the primary suspect Amara Bunduka, informing him that his grandson Mohamed had stolen a phone from one Lansana Momoh. The grandfather alleges that he could hear beatings of his grandson during the conversation with Mr. Bunduka.

He furthered that he had pleaded for his grandson to be spared as he tried to make amends for the phone. All efforts to contact his son, Mohamed’s dad had proved futile.

The next day, he had received a call from Mr. Bunduka, informing him that his grandson has died.

According to a source from the Sierra Leone Police and a family member, four suspects are being held including Amara Bunduka as the Prime suspect, his wife Mary Bunduka, Lansana Momoh who is the owner of the phone and one Alfred Harding. These four have been accused of tieing and assaulting the deceased.

Another suspect only known as Basiru is on the run. His place of work, a carpentry shop has been closed until his apprehension.

Post-mortem held on Mohamed Kamara by Dr. Owizz Koroma in Makeni had shown that the boy had died due to strangulation.
