A plumber has been sentenced to five years’ imprisonment by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 1 in Freetown after being convicted of stealing from a church vehicle.
Foday Faragbo, a Sierra Leonean plumber residing at Aberdeen Ferry Road, was found guilty on one count of larceny from a vehicle, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the police charge sheet, Faragbo stole Le75,250 from a vehicle bearing registration number APG 911 on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Bryne Lane Drive 2, Aberdeen, within the Freetown Judicial District, Western Area. The vehicle and the stolen cash were the property of the National Pentecostal Church.
The accused was arrested on May 26, 2026, following police investigations and subsequently charged with the offence.
During the trial, the prosecution presented evidence in support of the charge. At the conclusion of proceedings, Magistrate Jah ruled that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and convicted Faragbo as charged.
In passing sentence, the magistrate imposed a five-year term of imprisonment. The court ordered that the convict be remanded to serve his sentence accordingly.
