Africell and Afrimoney Sierra Leone have donated Le150,000 to East End Lions Football Club to support the club’s preparations for the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.

The financial support was presented on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, as East End Lions intensifies preparations for its upcoming continental campaign.

Speaking at the presentation, Afrimoney Chief Executive Officer Martison Obeng-Agyei reaffirmed the companies’ commitment to supporting the development of sports in Sierra Leone.

He said Africell and Afrimoney regard sports as an important platform for empowering young people and promoting Sierra Leone’s image internationally.

Obeng-Agyei pledged the continued support of both companies to East End Lions throughout the competition and urged the players to remain focused, disciplined and determined as they prepare to represent the club and Sierra Leone on the continental stage.

The presentation was witnessed by Africell Sierra Leone Chief Executive Officer Shadi Gergerwi and staff of Africell and Afrimoney.

Receiving the donation on behalf of East End Lions, the club’s Secretary General, Alpha Jalloh Esq., thanked Africell and Afrimoney for their continued partnership and support to the club.

Jalloh said the funds would help the club meet some of the key logistical costs associated with its continental campaign, including travel, accommodation, venue arrangements and other related expenses.

He noted that the support had come at a critical time, with East End Lions set to play its first-leg fixture in Abidjan before the return leg at the SKD Stadium in Liberia.

Jalloh described the partnership with Africell and Afrimoney as significant to the club’s ambitions as it prepares to compete at a higher level of African club football.

The donation is expected to strengthen East End Lions’ preparations as the club seeks to make a strong impression in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup and represent Sierra Leone on the continental stage.
