An ambulance belonging to the Yawei Chiefdom administration in the Kailahun District of Sierra Leone’s Eastern Province was involved in a road traffic accident while returning from a medical transit mission.
The crash reportedly occurred along Jujoima Road as the emergency vehicle was traveling back to its station after successfully transporting a patient.
Emergency response teams deployed to the scene to assist the occupants. Authorities have confirmed that all victims sustained injuries during the crash and were immediately evacuated to the Yawei Hospital, where they are currently admitted and receiving medical treatment.
Local police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
