Over mobile phone theft allegation, a nineteen-year-old potential university student Sheku Tamba Momoh has reportedly hung himself to death at the airport Yokoyama Town in Koidu City, Kono District.

In an interview with A-Z, the commanding officer Osely Koakoyima police post, Inspector Mohamed Joe Kanu noted that last Friday at around 12:55 pm the deceased younger brother Momodu Tamba Momoh in a very hurried mood arrived at the Koakoyima police post.

He reported that his elder brother Sheku Tamba Momoh had threatened to kill himself and therefore invited the police to their dent home, noting upon arriving at the said house they met the doors of the house in which the deceased was locked from the inside and as a result, they had no option but for some people to go through the manhole of the house.

Inspector Kanu maintained that upon climbing down the manhole they met the remains of the deceased hung on a rope lifeless.

Meanwhile, the police preliminary investigation into the matter states that the deceased allegedly hung himself to death because he was accused of stealing a mobile phone and that he was chastised during the investigation of the stolen phone by his parents, and he had no option but to hang himself to death.

According to the police inspector, the remains of the deceased were later taken to the Koidu Government Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination of which it has been confirmed by the said postmortem examination that the deceased died by hanging himself.

The remains of the deceased have been handed over to his family members for burial whilst police investigation into the matter continues.

It could be recalled that this is at least the third time similar incidents have occurred at the Koakoyima community. Efforts to contact the parents of the deceased proved futile as they were psychologically sick and unable to talk to A-Z on the issue up to press time.
