Chief Ya Alimamy Kanugba Sesay (46), a local chief, Siaka W’deama (52), a native court clerk, and Santigie Conteh (48), a mason, appeared in court on Monday, February 10, 2025, to answer charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
This was their first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura at Pademba Road Court No. 2.
The three men are accused of assaulting Lewis Amadu Sesay on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Leicester Village in the Mountain Rural District, Western Area. The alleged assault is a violation of Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sorie Conteh, the state prosecutor, requested a short adjournment to allow time for a conference with his witness. At the time of their court appearance, the accused were not represented by legal counsel.
Magistrate Bangura granted bail to all three accused persons on their own recognizance and adjourned the case to February 20, 2025, for further proceedings.
