Catholic Relief Services (CRS) has launched a new digital Coordination and Visualization Platform (CVP) aimed at improving development planning, strengthening collaboration among stakeholders, and enhancing the monitoring of projects across Sierra Leone.
The platform was officially unveiled on 21 July 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown by Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh during a ceremony attended by senior government officials, development partners, civil society organisations, donor agencies, local councils, and representatives of various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).
The initiative is designed to provide a centralized system that enables government institutions and development partners to map ongoing interventions, improve access to reliable data, and coordinate development activities more effectively. By increasing the visibility of projects nationwide, the platform is expected to reduce duplication of efforts, strengthen collaboration, and support evidence-based decision-making.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh described the platform as an important step toward improving national development coordination. He stressed that timely access to accurate information and stronger institutional collaboration are critical to ensuring that development programmes deliver meaningful results and reach communities that need them most.
The event also featured remarks from Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development Rev. Dr. Titus B. Williams, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Ing. Dr. Francis Alpha Kallon, National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) Director General John Vandy Rogers, and World Food Programme (WFP) Sierra Leone Country Director Andrew Odero, all of whom underscored the importance of integrated planning and partnerships in achieving sustainable development.
CRS noted that the Coordination and Visualization Platform will serve as a practical tool for government institutions and development actors to improve planning, monitor progress, and allocate resources more efficiently. The organisation believes the system will also promote greater transparency and accountability in the implementation of development programmes.
With the introduction of the platform, stakeholders are expected to benefit from improved information sharing, stronger inter-agency coordination, and enhanced collaboration, ultimately contributing to more effective delivery of development initiatives across Sierra Leone.
