The Directorate of Food and Nutrition under the Ministry of Health has concluded its 2025 Technical Review Meeting, aimed at assessing progress and shaping future strategies to improve nutrition outcomes across Sierra Leone.

The three-day meeting brought together representatives from key government agencies, health development partners, academia, and civil society organizations.

Discussions focused on reviewing achievements under the National Food and Nutrition Security Implementation Plan (2021–2025), strengthening district-level monitoring and data systems for real-time decision-making, expanding community-based nutrition interventions, and promoting social and behavior change communication.

A major highlight of the event was the Nutrition Excellence Awards Ceremony, which recognized outstanding individuals, districts, and organizations for their exceptional leadership and impact in delivering nutrition services throughout 2024.

The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to collaborative, data-driven, and community-centered approaches to tackling malnutrition and achieving sustainable health outcomes.
