A Document titled; A police operational order /49- 2022 dated 7th October, 2022 making rounds on Social Media which I saw this morning 8th October, 2022 at about 8:00am is a serious call for concern especially where one of the areas (Regent Village) mentioned as to where intelligence direct that people who are planning to attack State Lodge are suspected to be, falls within my district.

As head of Western Area Rural District, I condemn any form of illegal demonstration or Riotous conduct, I am asking the Sierra Leone Police to arrest and prosecute any one that may involve in such act.

I am calling on the Councilors of Ward 395 and 396 in Regent community, the Village head of Regent Village and stakeholders to report to the Sierra Leone Police or to my office of any strange person or movement in their area of responsibility that is a treat to national security.

I further urge all youths to stay away from any unlawful acts as that will not solve their developmental issues.

WARDC has developed lots of programs and activities for youths in the District as in a recent meeting held with Youth groups on Tuesday 6th October, 2022 a budget of One Billion Leones (Old Leones) has been allocated to youth activities in the district for 2023 financial year, so we expect the youths at this moment to focus on how to utilize the said budgeted amount in developing themselves and NOT TO ENGAGE in unlawful acts.

I also urge all residents of the Western Area Rural District to report on any unsatisfactory movement to their respective village heads who will then informed the Sierra Leone Police accordingly.

MIn that respect, village heads of the 121 villages of the Western Area Rural District are directed to raise awareness and sensitize their community people on security matters.

I called on the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) to see reasons to work with us as partners so as to have a peaceful country.

I believe in democracy and strongly believe the only way to governance is through the ballot box.

Thanks for your understanding as I anticipate your usual cooperation!
