The mysterious death of a popular Sierra Leone DJ Clef and alleged abandonment of its corpse has created buzz over the weekend, Sierraloaded can reveal.

However, four people have been arrested in connection with the abandoned corpse dumped at the Murray Town Cemetery last week Monday.

Police spokesperson & Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ibrahim Samura, confirmed that six people have been arrested in connection with the case and they are helping the police in their investigation. He cannot confirm the people that have been arrested.

Awoko reports that about a week ago, an unidentified corpse was found along Macauley Street, Murray Town and was collected by the Burial Team and was taken for burial. However, family of the late man has identified him as Salami Sydney Buckle, a popular DJ called ‘Cleff’ who has been friends with CJ Mark and later was seen driving the car of popular female musician Willie Jay.

The mother, Victoria Johnson, describe Sydney as “a strong, courageous, hardworking and dedicated in whatever he is doing.” The 35 year-old son in a family of six, was a DJ at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) and after sometime, the mother said, “he decided to dedicate his life to Christ and started attending a church at Tengbeh Town.

He tried convincing me to attend the same church but I refused.”, the mother asserts.

Explaining the life of her son amidst tears, Victoria said “on Thursday I received a call from one of his brothers, Eric, asking me for Sydney’s number but I gave him his wife’s number, since his phone was no longer working. On Saturday again, I received a call from Eric who told me that Cleff had gone missing for nine days now and they have not been able to find him. It was not too long after, when his elder brother, Alex Kwaku Buckle disclosed that Sydney attended a party at Aberdeen, which was organised by one of his church members called Oreh. So I told him to try and locate her, so she will tell them about Sydney. Fortunately they were able to locate Oreh, who admitted that they were indeed together but she could not tell about his location.”

While calling for justice for her son, the mother explained that they were later informed that his corpse was found along Murray Town and the picture they showed them had the same tattoo with the name of Salami on it, together with the cross.

Victoria said because of the serious nature of the situation, they decided to make a formal report at the Aberdeen Police Station and some of the people involved have been invited for questioning.

However, Sources who spoke to Awoko disclosed that the party organised by Oreh was held at the residence of one renowned herbalist, LAJ and among the people present was Kadie Kebbe, a model and other artists.

The question now is why the remains of Salami Sydney Buckle was dumped at Murray Town without the knowledge of his family, and whether the murder was ritual, since some of his organs were missing.
