Residents were left startled after a vehicle travelling from Soja Street reportedly suffered brake failure and crashed into the fence wall of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), causing significant damage to the front of the vehicle.
Eyewitnesses ported that the vehicle suddenly lost control after its brakes failed, leaving the driver unable to stop before it slammed into the concrete fence. The impact attracted scores of residents and passers-by, who rushed to the scene fearing the worst.
Photos from the scene show the white vehicle with its front end badly damaged after the collision, while debris and broken tree branches were scattered around the crash site.
Despite the severity of the impact, there were no reported injuries or fatalities. The occupants of the vehicle escaped unharmed in what many described as a miraculous outcome.
Security personnel and members of the public quickly gathered at the scene as efforts were made to assess the situation and clear the damaged vehicle.
The exact cause of the reported brake failure has not yet been officially established, and the incident is expected to be investigated by the relevant authorities.
The crash highlights the importance of regular vehicle maintenance, particularly routine brake inspections, to reduce the risk of mechanical failures that can lead to potentially deadly road accidents.
