Popular activist Edmond Abu and the Native Consortium have paid tribute to the late APC Chairman, Minkailu Mansaray, describing him as a politician widely respected across political and social lines.
In a statement, Edmond Abu said Mansaray was one of the few politicians in Sierra Leone whose character and conduct earned admiration even from political opponents, activists, and journalists.
According to Abu, the late APC Chairman was known for his tolerance and fairness, noting that he never used his political influence or wealth to victimize individuals.
“Minkailu Mansaray was one of the few politicians that many people, regardless of political affiliation, had no issue with. Despite his wealth and political influence, he never used his position against anyone,” Abu stated.
As a mark of respect, Abu announced that the Native Consortium will suspend its activities for the next three days in honour of the late APC Chairman. He said the group will resume operations on Thursday.
Abu further disclosed that upon resumption, if the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) fails to reduce fuel prices, the consortium will determine its next course of action and communicate it to the public.
The tribute comes as condolences continue to pour in from political leaders, civil society actors, and members of the public following the passing of Minkailu Mansaray.
