EDSA Staff Dies After Falling Off Electric Pole
Salamatu Y. Kamara Abu Tucker, a contract staff of the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) in Bo died on the spot after felling off an electricity pole on Thursday 23 February 2023.
Abu Tucker is attached to the fault team responsible for the amendment of faulty electrical poles within the Bo municipality.
According to a report by A-Z newspaper, the deceased in the morning hours was called by one of his colleagues to carry out an unofficial duty at the Lawabu section in Bo.
It was disclosed that the deceased for the first time climb the electric pole with a locally-made ladder which eventually broke while he was performing his duty and fell. Unfortunately, his hand hung on the electric wire which shocked him to death.
It is said that Abu Tucker was survived by his wife who is in no time will deliver their unborn child and his body has already been conveyed at Mokonday for burial by the Fault Team of EDSA.
The report stated that the management of EDSA is yet to make a comment due to the condition leading to Tucker’s death.
