Former Chairman of the Tonkolili District Council, Augustine A.R. Koroma who served under the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) was on the night of Monday, October 16th, 2023 declared dead.
Until his death, the former Chairman was also the former Chairman of St. Theresa of Avila Parish Yonibana and former Headmaster of R.C. Boys Primary School Mile 91.
His passing has left a grieving Tonkolili District since the news was broke on social media.
According to information, the former Chairman succumbed to the cold hands of death in a hospital in Makeni city where he has been battling an illness.
Surprisingly, it was about two months ago when his wife Mrs. Isatu S.A. Koroma died.
Koroma was a Councillor in his hometown of Mile 91 in the Yoni Chiefdom from 2002 to 2007 before becoming the first gentleman of Tonkolili. During his time as the Tonkolili District Council Chairperson, Koroma implemented a lot of projects that helped move the District forward.
Since the announcement of his death, Tonkolilians from home and abroad have been sharing and sending condolences to the family. It’s still unclear when and where he will be buried.

I am Augustine A.R Koroma (Jnr) the eldest son of the late man. Our Dad’s vigil and burial will be in his hometown at Yonibana at the St. Theresa of Avilla parish Church on the following dates; 3&4 November, 2023. However, his body would be laid out at his residence 60 Bo Road Mile 91 before taking to Yonibana for the vigil on the 3rd, November, 2023.
