Sheku Samura, a gardener, has been handed over to the Mammy Queen of Benguma Military Barracks by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1.
The defendant is standing trial on a count charge of Unlawful Possession, contrary to Section 13 (1) of the Criminal Procedure Act, Cap 37, as amended by Section 5 of Act No. 6 of 1981.
According to the particulars of offence, on Tuesday, 31st March 2026, at Maburon Village, off Waterloo Highway, Western Rural Area in Freetown, the accused was allegedly found in possession of one old military bedroll, one old military facing cap, one old military coat, and other military items without lawful authority.
When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, he pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Jah ordered that the defendant be handed over to the Mammy Queen of Benguma Military Barracks and instructed that he be brought back before the court on 27th April 2026.
