First Lady of  The Republic of Sierra Leone, Fatima Jabbie Bio has donated 1,000 bags of cement to Segbwema Town for the construction of Central Mosque and the Catholic Church. This donation came in as a fulfillment of a promise she made to the community.

In fulfilment of the recent promise by Her Excellency First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio which she made to the St. Peters Catholic Church where her husband used to worship as the Military Commander during the Civil Strife and as well to the Segbwema Central Mosque, a high-powered delegation from the Office of the First Lady, headed by Mr. King, have presented 1,000 bags of cement to the aforementioned mosque and church in Segbwema township today Sunday 16th April 2023.

Presenting 500 bags of cement to the Mosque and another 500 to the Church, Mr. King stated that Her Excellency would have loved to do the presentation herself but she is presently busy on another official engagement with her husband H.E. President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

Mr. King recalled the recent Presidential Thank You tour meeting held in Segbwema recently when Her Excellency First Lady Fatima Maada Bio made the promises.

He appealed to the Religious Leaders to use the cement for intended purposes; which is to conduct a completion and/or maintenance of the two places of worship.

In her address, the Honourable Member of Parliament for Constituency 008, Hon. Bernadette Wuyatta Songa, expressed her thanks and appreciations to the First Family for always making their promises become reality. She also thanked them for their continued support to Kailahun district as a whole.

Hon. Songa assures the First Family of a landslide victory come 2023 General Elections in June.

Speaking on behalf of the Catholic Church, Reverend Father Kanu thanked the First Family for their support towards the upgrading of their place of worship.

Reverend Kanu offered a Special Prayer for the First Family and also assured that the Church will not forget them in their prayers as they head for re-election.

The Chief Imam of the Central Mosque, Alhaji Fuard Kamara also offered a Special Prayer for the First Family and assured that the donated cement will go a long way in completing their mosque.

He asked Allah to continue to bless the First Family and the Government so that they can continue to make the country a better place to live.

“Receiving this cement today is a surprise to all of us. We were not expecting it. We thought it was just a political statement. We will always be grateful to the First Family for fulfiling their promise to us,” the Imam affirmed.
