Justice Adrian Fisher has ordered a prosecution witness, Mohamed Sarrico to pay a compensation of 30 million Old Leones to Zainab Mansaray who he falsely testified against.

Mansaray was acquitted and discharged on allegations of larceny contrary to Section 17 of the Larceny Act at the High Court in Freetown.

The lead prosecutor, Solomon Kekura informed the judge that the state has no evidence against Mansaray and would wish to strike out all allegations levied on the lady.

The lady was accused by complainant Sarrico to have stolen items belonging to him.

It became known to the court that the complainant was in fact also an accused in another larceny matter being presided over by Justice Abou Bhakarr Binneh-Kamara.

The issue of compensation in the matter arose after the defence counsel, Randy Bangura pleaded with the Judge to allow her client to be compensated because she has been falsely accused.

Bangura said the false accusation against his client has left her degenerated both morally and physically.

He asked for the compensation to come from complainant Sarrico for misleading the court.
