Former Permanent Secretary, Sanah Johnsen Mara Dies

Former Senior Permanent Secretary, Sanah Johnsen Mara, popularly known as The Don, has been reported dead in Freetown.
Mara is survived by his wife and four children including a prominent Sierra Leonean economist and philanthropist, Dr. Yakama Manty Jones.
Mara, a former senior permanent secretary who served under various ministries, unfortunate death happened on Tuesday 17th January 2023.

‘The Don’ was also the late son of Koranko Chief and patriarch, Ibrahim Sorie Mara of Gbenekoro, Sengbeh Chiefdom in Koinadugu District.
The family is yet to announce a date for the funeral.
Similarly, the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) reported the loss of Jengo Stevens, son of former president Siaka Probyn Stevens on Wednesday morning.

Jengo was a member of the Party’s National Advisory Committee (NAC).
