A driver in Freetown, Musa Sesay has been accused and brought before Magistrate Peter Gogra of the Pademba Road High Court for the alleged theft of properties and items belonging to one Barrister Davida Laingay Bangura.

Musa Sesay who appeared before the court on two count charges and conspiracy to law contravening Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916 was alleged to have conspired with some other persons to commit the crime on 29th of August 2022 at Freetown Road.

The stolen items included one colour Samsonite bag, one purple colour Asus Model Laptop computer, and cash, all valued at forty-five thousand four hundred Leones.

Sesey who had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charges was countered when the prosecution team led by Inspector Mabel M, Tarawalie produced four witnesses, including a factual witness.

Giving his ruling, Magistrate Gogra said “having looked at the evidence he was of the view that the prosecution has adduced sufficient evidence in order to warrant a committal of the matter to the High Court for trial”

He granted the accused bail of sum of fifty-million Leones with two sureties who must be residents in the Western Area. He added that both sureties must be employed in a government institution and that one of them should be 50-year-old and above.
