The Heart of Giving Children Foundation (HOGCF) has held a dual donation in Kissy Community Eastern Freetown supporting flood victims of the Quarry Community Back off Hotel 5/10 Low-cost step and pupils of the Glorious Community Primary School King George Home VI.
The pupils of the Glorious Community Primary School King George Home VI received books, bags, lunch packs, and one bag of toys, whiles the flood victims benefited from 50 bundles of water and ten bales of used clothes which they described as timely after many of their properties were destroyed and some of them were left homeless.
In an interview with Newsfeed Sierra Leone, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Heart of Giving Children Foundation currently based in Cyprus, Mohamed Tejan Kamara, stated that it is a manifestation of the organisation’s commitment to putting a smile on the faces of the less-privileged children and the vulnerable people in the country.
He further disclosed that the visit to the quarry community was for the organisation to have first-hand information about the challenges of the flood victims.
“We have heard their constraints, even though we didn’t make any promise, but again the items donated to them on Thursday we believe that is just a start” he revealed.
Mohamed Tejan Kamara otherwise known as Opong called on other individuals to support the organisation adding they are planning to make another donation to the flood victims
“Life is very challenging for them at this moment, as an organisation we are open up for diverse support, more also when we are currently strategizing how to make another donation to the flood victims as a way to solace them” he concluded.
