HRCSL and Labour Ministry Probe Employee’s Death at Miro Forestry in Mile 91
The Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL), through the Directorate of Business and Human Rights, and the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security held a joint investigation meeting into the alleged death of an employee at Miro Forestry Company in Mile 91.
The objective of the meeting was to probe into the alleged death of an employee linked to the operations of Miro Forestry Company.
“It was alleged that on 11th August 2026, one Sulaiman B. Kamara, an employee of Miro Forestry Company who had served for over four years, was reported dead while on duty.”

In line with that, this followed an earlier meeting held at the MLESS in which the management of Miro Forestry Company was summoned to explain the circumstances that led to the death of their employee.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from both institutions to effectively monitor the full operations of Miro, focusing on the working conditions of its staff, while awaiting the outcome of the investigation report to give further directives to the company.
