Immigration Department Opens Channels for Reporting Staff Misconduct
The Sierra Leone Immigration Department (SLID) has urged members of the public to report cases of staff misconduct, fraud, bribery, extortion and other unprofessional conduct linked to immigration services.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, the Department encouraged citizens and service users to report any conduct they believe violates professional standards or undermines the delivery of immigration services.
SLID said the initiative is aimed at strengthening its efforts to combat corruption, improve service delivery and uphold the integrity of the institution.
The Department assured members of the public that all complaints and reports submitted through its designated channels would be treated with strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Members of the public can submit complaints through the following contact numbers: 071 180921, 080 866042, 077 255329, and 079 818498.
Complaints can also be submitted via email through [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected].
SLID further encouraged the public to use its social media platforms, including LinkedIn, X and Facebook, to raise service-related concerns and report alleged misconduct.
The Department said public feedback is important to its efforts to strengthen accountability, improve immigration services and maintain professional standards across the organisation.
