High Court Orders Destruction of Large Haul of Harmful Drugs in Kono
Salamatu Y. Kamara On Wednesday, 26th February 2025, the High Court Judge of the Sefadu Court in Kono, Justice A.K. Musa, together with the sitting Magistrate, Joseph Tobby, ordered the burning of a large quantity of assorted harmful drugs
While making a statement before the burning commenced, justice Musa stated that the reasons behind their action is to detar the consumption of harmful drugs in the society and to prevent it possible recycling in the public domain whilst the trials are on going in courts.
Mr Musa reaffirmed the court joint commitment with the police in the fight against harmful substances and called on all to join the fight for a drug free society.
After his statement, Petrol was sprinkled on the drugs and set ablaze by the court prosecutors.
The burning which was done in the court premises was witnessed by the public, police officers from both Tankoro and Motema divisions, Journalists, lawyers, and other stakeholders.
