Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, has announced that the remains of the late National Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, are scheduled to arrive in Freetown on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. as preparations continue for his repatriation from Senegal.

Kargbo disclosed the development following a visit to Senegal, where he, together with Hon. Emerson Lamina, met with Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Senegal and undertook arrangements related to the return of the late chairman’s body.

According to Kargbo, the delegation visited the mortuary where the remains of the late APC chairman are being kept. During the visit, they met with Mansaray’s widow, Kay Mansaray, and spent time with her as the family continues to mourn his passing.

He stated that the delegation formally identified the body and witnessed the sealing of the coffin to ensure that all required procedures were properly carried out ahead of its transportation to Sierra Leone.

Kargbo further revealed that he is expected to arrive in Sierra Leone at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday to coordinate final preparations before receiving the late chairman’s remains at the airport later that day.

The Opposition Leader noted that the APC is working closely with the Government of Sierra Leone and other relevant authorities to facilitate a smooth, respectful, and dignified repatriation process.

The return of the late chairman’s remains is expected to mark the beginning of a series of funeral and memorial activities as party members, supporters, family members, and sympathizers prepare to pay their final respects to one of the APC’s most senior leaders.

Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray is being remembered by party members and supporters for his leadership, commitment to the APC, and contributions to national development.
