Kenema, Kailahun Get New Police Commanders
The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Eastern Regional Command has appointed new Local Unit Commanders for the Kenema and Kailahun Divisions as part of recent administrative transfers within the Force.
CSP Osman Ibrahim Kamara has assumed duty as the new Local Unit Commander for the Kenema Division, taking over from CSP Emmanuel Kpulun.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Edward K. A. Sesay has been posted to the Kailahun Division as Local Unit Commander, replacing Superintendent Tialu Sesay.
The changes form part of the Sierra Leone Police’s routine administrative deployments aimed at strengthening efficiency, command and control across the Force.
The outgoing commanders, CSP Emmanuel Kpulun and Superintendent Tialu Sesay, were recognised for their professionalism, accessibility and community-oriented leadership during their respective tenures in Kenema and Kailahun.
Their engagement with stakeholders and communities contributed to maintaining public confidence and strengthening police-community relations in the two divisions.
Following his assumption of duty, the new Kenema Local Unit Commander, CSP Osman I. Kamara, called for greater coordination, teamwork and collective responsibility among police officers and other stakeholders.
He stressed that effective policing requires the combined efforts of the police, communities and partners, while expressing his readiness to work with all sectors to consolidate peace, security and public safety within the Kenema Division.
The new appointments mark another phase in the Eastern Regional Command’s efforts to strengthen leadership, professional policing and service delivery across the region.
