Former President Ernest Bai Koroma has expressed deep sorrow over the death of veteran politician and long-serving member of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Honourable Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray.
In a condolence message issued on 20 June 2026 from the Office of the Former President in Abuja, Nigeria, Koroma described Mansaray’s passing as a significant loss to his family, the APC, and the country at large, noting his decades of service in both party leadership and government.
He highlighted Mansaray’s long-standing political journey within the APC, stating that he served at various levels of the party, beginning from the Youth League and rising to become National Chairman. He also noted that Mansaray held several public offices in government, where he contributed to national development.
Koroma further reflected on their political relationship, describing Mansaray as one of the early party figures who supported his leadership ambitions and remained loyal during critical moments in the party’s political history. He said that loyalty and dedication continued throughout his presidency.
“His passing represents an irreparable loss to his family, to the APC, to me personally, and to all those who knew and worked with him,” Koroma stated in the tribute.
He extended condolences to the bereaved family, the APC, friends, and associates of the late politician, urging them to find strength during what he described as a difficult period of mourning.
“As we bid farewell to Orminkay, as I fondly called him, let us remember a life lived with purpose, service, and devotion to others,” he added.
Koroma prayed for Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
Minkailu Mansaray is remembered as a senior APC figure who played a key role in the party’s internal leadership structures and national political engagements over several decades.
