Kankay Yumkella commonly called “D women’s Mama” the founder and CEO of Kenenyi Initiative for National Development (KIND) has provided financial support to her women’s group and Women in Kychom, Samu chiefdom during her visit to the various EC-SL registration centres in the chiefdom.

She arrived in her hometown Kychom to register and have the opportunity to vote in the upcoming general elections scheduled to take place on 24th June 2023.

During her engagement sessions she appealed to women groups in Kychom to encourage all eligible voters to come out and register so that they will qualify to vote in the 2023 general elections.

She highlighted the key benefits of the EC-SL registration card and reiterated that it is important to be part of this process.

She is not only a role model in Samu but also contributing immensely to the lives of women and children in diverse ways.

In her brief remarks with the women, madam Yumkella said, “I am impressed with the work of EC-SL and I want to encourage you the women to do more to accomplish the mission.”

She thanked the women for leading the registration process and ensuring people go out to register.

She appealed to the women to go house to house and encourage every adult to register, while reiterating that not much time is left and that the women have a big role to play to ensure everyone registers.

She pointed out that the EC-SL registration card has a lot of benefits, adding that it will help individuals to open a bank account and most importantly enable them to vote in 2023 elections.

She further stated that “I’m here as an indigene of Kychom to encourage our mothers, sisters, brothers and uncles to be part of this first stage of the 2023 general elections process.

The visit was concluded by Kankay Yumkella visiting the graveyard of her parents P.C. Bai Shabro Yumkella and Haja Binta Yumkella respectively asking for Allah’s guidance and blessings for the family and Hon. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella.
