The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS), in partnership with IDinsight and other stakeholders, has unveiled the beta version of the Feed Salone Monitoring Platform, branded as “MAFS Insight,” during a demonstration held at the Ministry’s Conference Hall in Freetown.
The event brought together technical experts, policymakers, and implementing partners involved in the Feed Salone initiative to assess the platform’s progress ahead of its official rollout.
According to the Ministry, the session provided stakeholders with the opportunity to review the system’s structure, user interface, and functionality, as well as identify areas requiring improvement. Participants were also encouraged to submit feedback and recommendations to strengthen the platform before full deployment.
Discussions focused on improving the system’s efficiency, scalability, and ability to respond to the growing demands of agricultural data management in Sierra Leone.
Once fully operational, MAFS Insight is expected to serve as a centralized digital platform integrating agricultural data across the Ministry. Officials say it will improve data accessibility, strengthen reporting systems, and support evidence-based planning, monitoring, and coordination within the sector.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts under the Feed Salone programme to modernize agriculture through improved data systems and enhanced institutional coordination.
