Former Lands Minister, AlhaJi Musa Tarawally and his establishment, TEES Shopping Center are in Court before Magistrate Isata Sellu Tucker, on one count charge of failure to comply with the provisions of National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) Act No. 5 of 2001, and the Regulations of 2004, contrary to Section 32 (1) (e) of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust Act No. 5 of 2001.

According to the information, the Accused, TEES Shopping Center Limited, Musa Tarawally being an establishment and employer respectively under the National Social Security and Insurance Trust Act No. 5 of 2001, on the 8th December 2022, at No. 100b Wilkinson Road, Freetown, without reasonable excuse, failed to comply with the provisions of the aforementioned Act, to wit non-submission of documents for inspection.

Both defendants were represented by two lawyers; whilst NASSIT was represented by lawyer U.D.F Sesay who applied that the establishment of the former Lands Minister is inspected.

Magistrate Tucker, however, ordered officials of NASSIT to go and inspect the establishment of the former Lands Minister Musa Tarawally; adding that if he fails to allow the inspection, the court will take action against him and his establishment.

Magistrate Tucker adjourned the matter to 16 April 2023, for another hearing.
