Two Moyamba Students Secure One-Year Scholarships After Academic Excellence
Amadu Moimo The National President of the Moyamba District Students Union (MoDSU), Habson Habib, alongside executive members of the union, has presented one-year scholarships to two students in Moyamba District.
The beneficiaries are a male student from Moyamba Boys’ Secondary School (MBSS) and a female student from Harford School for Girls in Moyamba.
The scholarships were sponsored by Dr Daniel Kaitibie as part of his commitment to supporting education and promoting academic excellence among students in the district.
The initiative follows the “Brains of Moyamba” event held in June 2026, where Dr Kaitibie served as keynote speaker and pledged to provide one-year scholarships and essential learning materials to the Best Quizzer and Best Debater.
Presenting the scholarships, MoDSU President Habson Habib said the initiative fulfilled a commitment made during the event and was intended to encourage academic excellence and motivate students to remain focused on their education and personal development.
During the presentation ceremony, President Habib also addressed students during their devotional session, where he emphasised the importance of responsibility, discipline, determination and hard work in achieving academic success.
He encouraged the students to take their studies seriously, remain focused on their goals and make use of the opportunities available to them.
MoDSU expressed appreciation to Dr Daniel Kaitibie for supporting the scholarship initiative and contributing to educational opportunities for students in Moyamba District.
The union reaffirmed its commitment to promoting education, recognising academic excellence and creating opportunities to support students in achieving their educational goals.
The two scholarship beneficiaries were congratulated and encouraged to maintain their academic performance throughout their studies.
