Residents of Morsave Village are reportedly fleeing their homes as security personnel are allegedly terrorizing the village, assaulting men.

In a viral social media video, a woman who identified herself as Francess Gandor, a nursery school teacher, stated that the men in the entire village are on the run in fear of arrest and assault by security personnel, who have accused them of attacking a company in the village.

According to Gandor, the villagers had spent five days and nights hiding in the bushes but decided to return to their village, which is now left with only women and children after noticing that their properties were being stolen.

Gandor further alleged that security personnel routinely tie up and beat the chief’s wife whenever they visit the village.

She confirmed that some of the men arrested by the security personnel were taken to Mattru Jong, while others were taken to Rutile. Upon their arrest, she claimed the men were beaten to the point of vomiting blood, a situation she personally witnessed.

Gandor stated that the village is in total disarray, as residents are afraid to resume their normal activities due to the closure of schools and other facilities. Since the incident, she said no concerned authorities have come to their aid, leaving the villagers with no food to sustain themselves or their children.

With emotions in their voices, the villagers called on President Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Fatima Bio to intervene and rescue them, with some speaking in the local Mende language. They warned that if the situation is not resolved immediately, it will have a devastating impact on them.
