The Campaign and Communications Team of Alhaji Musa Jaward-Kebbie of the Kebbie Ruling House in Malen Chiefdom, Pujehun District, has announced his withdrawal from the Malen Paramount Chieftaincy Election scheduled for 14 June 2026 in Sahn Town.
The announcement was made on 13 June 2026, just a day before the election, following what the team described as extensive consultations with family members, elders of the Kebbie Ruling House, supporters, and other key stakeholders.
According to the statement, the decision was reached after careful consideration, with Alhaji Musa Jaward-Kebbie concluding that the unity, strength, and collective interest of the Kebbie Ruling House and the people of Malen Chiefdom would be better served by his withdrawal from the race.
Following his decision, he has thrown his full support behind the remaining four candidates from the Kebbie Ruling House who are still contesting the election.
He called on his supporters, well-wishers, and all those who stood by him throughout his campaign to transfer their support to the remaining candidates and work together in a spirit of unity, respect, and solidarity.
Jaward-Kebbie expressed confidence that the Kebbie Ruling House has capable and worthy candidates committed to advancing the development, peace, and prosperity of Malen Chiefdom. He stated that whichever of the four candidates emerges victorious would provide effective leadership and serve the chiefdom with distinction.
He also extended appreciation to the elders, family members, campaign team, supporters, and the people of Malen Chiefdom for their encouragement, trust, and unwavering support during his candidacy.
As the election draws near, he urged residents of Malen Chiefdom to maintain peace, uphold the rule of law, and conduct themselves responsibly before, during, and after the election.
“The future of Malen Chiefdom depends on our collective commitment to peace, reconciliation, and development. Let us move forward together as one people, united by our common heritage and aspirations,” he stated.
Alhaji Musa Jaward-Kebbie was among the 16 official candidates announced during the Malen Paramount Chieftaincy Declaration Ceremony held on 4 June 2026 in Sahn Town by the Southern Region Provincial Secretary, Abu Bakarr Kamara.
