PAN Announces Date for Fourth Public Speaking for Girls Competition
The Patriotic Advocacy Network Sierra Leone (PAN) has announced that it will host the fourth edition of its annual Public Speaking for Girls Competition on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at the Bank Complex in Kingtom, Freetown.
The competition will be held under the theme, “Her Voice, Her Choice — Girls Speaking for a Better Tomorrow,” with a focus on empowering young girls through leadership development, mentorship and communication skills.
According to PAN, the initiative is one of its flagship programmes, designed to equip girls with ethical leadership skills and provide them with a platform to speak out against social and systemic challenges affecting their lives.
The event will feature an inter-school competition across three categories: public speaking, music and spoken-word poetry.
Each participating school will be represented by three students, who will address key social issues, including gender-based violence, educational equity, early marriage, substance abuse, inequality, injustice and female empowerment.
Preliminary rounds will be conducted across secondary schools in the Western Area Urban and Western Area Rural districts to determine the finalists who will compete in the main event.
PAN has invited individuals and institutions interested in partnering with or sponsoring the initiative to contact the organisation on +232 77 459 773 or via email at [email protected].
