An inboard passenger at the Freetown International Airport on Wednesday 7th June 2023 was discovered with weapons by Officials of the Customs Service Department of the Airport.

This information was disclosed in a press release by the National Revenue Authority, Public Affairs and Tax Education Unit, Thursday 8th June 2023.

According to the press release, it was stated that a three pistols, three magazines of over a hundred rounds of cartridges, a dagger, and a type of flack military jacket was discovered by a passenger at the Brussels Airlines.

“Officials at the Customs Service Department at the Freetown International Airport have discovered 3(three pistols), three magazines of over hundred rounds of cartridges, a dagger, and a type of flack military jacket from a Passenger on Brussels Airlines on 7th June 2023”.

The release continued that the items and the Suspect have been handed over to the Armourer- a Police personnel or division responsible for the oversight of such investigations at the Airport.

The press release promised to provide further details to the Public as the investigation progresses.
