Mohamed Musa Kpakra Massallay has been duly elected as the substantive Paramount chief of Perri Chiefdom in Pujehun district.

It was a highly contested paramount chieftaincy election between nine aspiring Candidates; the nine (9) aspiring Candidates were unable to secure the most needed 55% during the first round of the election.

A run-off election was immediately conducted between Massallay Mohamed KPAKRA and Vincent Maada Kamara Koroma on simple Majority voting system as mandated in the local chieftaincy act in 2004.

 

Mohamed Kpakra Massallay secured an emphatic and resounding victory over his tight counterpart Vincent Moiwa Maada Kamara Koroma.

 

Mohamed Kpakra Massallay secured  a total valid vote cast of 416 whilst his strong contender Vicent Moiwa Maada Koroma secured a total valid vote cast of 347 with a clear 69 valid votes difference between the two prominent candidates.

 

In his declaration statement to the media, indigenes of Perri Chiefdom, None state Actors, civil rights activists, accessor chiefs, the provincial secretary for the north west Region Andrew Fofanah clearly stated that, the whole electioneering process was transparent, credible and friendly with no report of unrest situation.*

” I am here to maintain fairness, peace and tranquillity in this election, we don’t have any sacred cow to protect, in any electioneering process, we would always have  one winner, power comes from God, those who lost the election I wish them good luck in their future aspirations, I Andrew Fofanah the provincial secretary of north west Region in collaboratively with the returning officer of E.C.SL have declared Mohamed Kpakra Massallay who has secured the highest valid vote cast of 416 as the substantive Paramount chief of Perri Chiefdom Pujehun district.” he confirmed.

 

The Chiefdom was in great jubilant mood after confirming Mohamed Kpakra Massallay as the new paramount chief of Perri Chiefdom Pujehun district.
