The Police personnel on Tuesday, 21st April 2026, intercepted a man at the Ngeliama checkpoint while riding a black TVS Star motorbike without a registration number.
According to the police reports, the suspect was carrying a bag that aroused suspicion among officers on duty, prompting a thorough search.
During the search, police discovered a firearm in his possession, a single-barreled pistol, which he could not lawfully account for.
Furthermore, the suspect later identified himself as Lahai Bawah, a resident of Panguma Town.
Following the discovery, the suspect was arrested along with the motorbike and the recovered firearm, which have been retained as exhibits.
Finally, he has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Tongo Police Station for further investigation.
