Police Arrest Woman with Container of Suspected Kush and Tramadol in Freetown
Sahid Bangura Police in Freetown have arrested a woman after allegedly finding a container containing various substances suspected to be drugs, including Kush and Tramadol, at the Peace Market Lorry Park.
The suspect, identified as Bintu Joe of Cole Street, Yellow Mosque, Waterloo, was arrested on Thursday, September 24, by personnel attached to the Sierra Leone Police Ross Road Harbour Division following intelligence-led information.
Police said a search of a blue rubber container, locally known as a Kolema, allegedly found in the woman’s possession led to the discovery of quantities of substances suspected to be Kush and Tramadol, alongside other substances bearing labels including Mark 300, 250 and 255.
The arrest followed previous engagements between police and community stakeholders at the Peace Market Lorry Park, where residents and other community members were encouraged to report suspicious activities and avoid condoning criminal conduct.
Police continue to encourage members of the public to cooperate with law enforcement and provide information that could assist in preventing crime and maintaining public safety. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
