The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have officially declared a Freetown resident, Josephus Kayonga, wanted following an alleged case of theft.
According to a wanted notice issued by law enforcement authorities, an official warrant of arrest (CID HQ W/A NO. 106/2026) has been generated against Kayonga under criminal record number 3236/2026. He faces a charge of larceny by servant.
Police have released the physical profile and background details of the suspect to assist the public in identification:
Name: Josephus Kayonga
Last Known Address: Lower Pillar Street, Wellington, Freetown
Physical Description: An adult male standing at 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a fair complexion.
The police administration has urged members of the public to come forward with any credible information regarding Kayonga’s current location.
Citizens who spot the suspect or possess relevant information are instructed to report immediately to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Regional Headquarters on Effu Pademba Road in Freetown, or alert their nearest local police station.
Law enforcement has also provided two direct hotlines for tips: +232-34-008-669 and +232-88-010-300. The Sierra Leone Police confirmed that a “handsome reward” will be given to anyone who provides actionable intelligence that directly leads to Kayonga’s arrest.
