The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Hospital in Kingtom, on Saturday, August 29, embarked on a general cleaning exercise as part of their efforts to maintain a clean, safe, and conducive environment for patients, visitors, and staff, as well as planned effort to host the Surgeons in Action Foundation.
According to Assistant Superitendent Dr John M. Konteh, Deputy Director and Medical Superintendent of the Police Hospital, the Foundation is expected to conduct free surgical campaign in Sierra Leone. He added that the general cleaning is part of the designated monthly cleaning exercise advised by the Ministry of Health across health facilities in Sierra Leone.
He said that since this cleaning exercise coincides with the preparations of hosting the Foundation, staff of the Police Hospital are therefore making the necessary preparations to ensure that the visiting medical team is warmly received and adequately supported.
ASP Dr Konteh further expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, for his continued support and for motivating staff of the Police Hospital. He noted that such support would encourage personnel to remain committed to providing improved and effective healthcare services.
The cleaning exercise covered all departments and sections of the hospital, with staff actively participating in the exercise.
