Civil society groups, media, and key stakeholders are demanding urgent investigations following a shocking incident at the Kambia Police Division, where the Operations Officer, James Momoh Mansaray, allegedly assaulted the District Security Coordinator of the Office of National Security (ONS), Joshua Bockarie, leaving him unconscious.

According to reports, the altercation took place at the police station, escalating to a point where Mansaray allegedly pushed Bockarie with such force that he lost consciousness.

The severity of his condition overwhelmed medical personnel at the Kambia Government Hospital, leading to his urgent referral to Freetown for advanced medical care. Due to his critical state, Bockarie was placed on oxygen support and remains under intensive treatment.

The incident has sparked outrage among civil society organizations, media personnel, youth groups, and local stakeholders, who are now questioning the professionalism and accountability of law enforcement officers in the district. Many view the alleged attack as a direct abuse of power and are calling for swift justice.

In a strong-worded statement, the Civil Society Movement of Kambia District has urged the government, the Sierra Leone Police, and the National ONS leadership to take immediate action. They are demanding a transparent investigation to hold those responsible accountable and prevent further incidents that could erode public trust in security institutions.

As tensions rise, the people of Kambia await a response from authorities, emphasizing that accountability and swift action are crucial to restoring public confidence in law enforcement and ensuring such incidents do not go unpunished.
