A social media video has sparked outrage, highlighting the lack of medical facilities in rural Sierra Leone. The video depicts villagers in Yera Moria carrying a pregnant woman in need on makeshift transport fashioned from sticks.
The heartbreaking incident reportedly unfolded around 1:00 am, forcing villagers to transport the woman to the nearest medical facility in Yerayah, a journey likely exacerbated by the lack of proper roads.
A voice captured in the video, believed to be from one of the villagers assisting the woman, pleads for help. “We are taking her to Yerayah because there is no medical facility here,” the voice explains. The video serves as a stark call to action, urging both the government and NGOs to address the critical shortage of medical facilities in remote areas.
The video has garnered significant attention online, with many expressing concerns for the woman’s well-being and frustration over the lack of accessible healthcare.

Our community has been ignored for far too long, imagine some of us walked 7 Miles everyday to access school in the nearby village before our fathers could build a thatch school for us.
I personally have written series of articles with regards to the deplorable condition of my community and the massive death of Pregnant women and children under five but the government kept deaf ears on it.
Those sitting at the helm of affairs will chase you sooner you pen down your ink on issues that has to do with the communities. They always politicized matters
