The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, will host its weekly press conference tomorrow, Tuesday, July 28, at the Miatta Civic Centre in Freetown. The session will focus on the upcoming National Council of Paramount Chiefs Conference 2026, under the theme “Strengthening Chieftaincy for Security and Governance.”
The press briefing will feature key voices in local governance and traditional leadership. Tamba Lamina, Minister of Local Government and Community Affairs, will lead discussions alongside prominent Paramount Chiefs. Among them are Hon. P.C Haja Fatmata Bintu Koroma Meama-Kajue VI, Paramount Chief of Dasse Chiefdom in Moyamba District and National Treasurer of the Council, and P.C Faiya Sundifu Brima Sovula IV, Paramount Chief of Kamajei Chiefdom in Moyamba District and National Secretary General of the Council.
The event will be hosted by Mohamed Jaward Nyallay, Strategic Communications Adviser, who will moderate the dialogue on how traditional leadership can reinforce national security and governance structures.

The Ministry emphasized that the conference is part of ongoing efforts to integrate traditional authority into Sierra Leone’s governance framework. The slogan accompanying the event, “Salone Big Pas Wi ALL We Rise to Lift Salone Above All Else,” underscores the collective spirit of national progress.
