On Friday, 7th March 2025, Prof. Philip Kanu, the Principal of Milton Margai Technical University, presented a certificate of appreciation to the Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby.
Milton Margai Technical University, renowned as the leading institution for teacher education in the country, presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Austin Demby, the Minister of Health, in recognition of his commitment to providing high-quality medical services through the Hospital on Wheels initiative.
This initiative has significantly impacted the university community by offering free health services, including the screening and treatment of chronic diseases, kidney and liver function tests, and many other essential services. Over 2,000 students on the university campus have benefitted from these services.
During the presentation, Prof. Philip Kanu, the Principal of Milton Margai Technical University, honored Dr. Demby for his outstanding contributions to improving public health. Dr. Demby graciously accepted the certificate and reiterated his strong commitment to expanding lifesaving medical services for the people of Sierra Leone.
