National Public Health Agency Concludes Community-Led Action Sensitization in Two Villages

Kamara The National Public Health Agency (NPHA), through its Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Pillar, has successfully implemented a dynamic Community-Led Action (CLA) sensitisation program in Konkoba and Kayakoh villages, fostering local ownership and collective action for improved health outcomes.
Community-Led Action is a participatory approach that places communities at the center of public health response. It empowers residents to identify their own health risks, develop solutions, and mobilize resources to prevent disease and promote wellness. CLA is not just a tool. It’s a catalyst for sustainable change.
Led by RCCE facilitators, the sessions in Konkoba and Kayakoh brought together village leaders, youth, and women’s groups to discuss pressing health concerns, map community assets, and commit to practical steps that improve hygiene, sanitation, and maternal health outcomes. The energy was grassroots-driven, the dialogue inclusive, and the outcomes promising.
This initiative reflects NPHA’s commitment to strengthening community resilience and ensuring that public health interventions are locally owned, culturally attuned, and action-oriented. By fostering dialogue and empowering communities to lead, CLA is helping to build healthier, stronger villages across Sierra Leone.
