Residents of the Sorie Town community have informed relevant authorities about the poor condition of the only bridge in their community.

According to the local chief in the Sorie Town Community, Chief Pa Alimamy Sesay the residents are tired of the condition of the said bridge.

He stated that some authorities have been promising to construct the bridge but to no avail.

He continued that the community people have been complaining about the poor status of the bridge, especially during the rains but no one has volunteered to construct the bridge.

Meanwhile, Mammy Isatu Kargbo who is a resident of the community for over 30 years said the present status of the bridge worries her a lot as children, bikes, and adults use it daily.

“We had no bridge here before, but due to the heavy rains we decided to have this metal bridge sometime back,” she lamented.

Chair Lady, Mariatu Conteh emphasized that the bridge becomes slippery whenever it gets wet. She stated that during the rains the waters from the hills sometimes cover the bridge.

“I am asking that people within and out of the community come to help us,” Conteh pleaded.
